the conspiracy theory : the doctor's name... is 42
the evidence :
if you didn't know, 42 is the "answer to the universe and everything". the reason this connects to doctor who is because multiple episodes have been made about different species fighting to figure out the doctor's name, which is said in the show to be "the most important words in the universe".
the writer Douglas Adams (who wrote the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy) has written for the show. this is shocking because Adams' series of books never mentions the question to the universe, but the answer; 42. could the question connecting the show to these books be doctor who?
there is an episode of doctor who named "42". it is during the era of the tenth doctor and martha in which they have 42 minutes to save a spaceship from hurtling towards the sun. here's the trailer for the episode:
in conclusion, i'd say i believe this theory. it makes sense not only in the doctor who universe, but possibly in multiple others. (and doctor who and 42 rhyme so it's fun to say to people, "ay, doctor who and 42.")
