today i did some bad ass Sam-Winchester style research on the subject: can Porgs, the f*cking adorable creatures in the new Star Wars film, fly?
first place i went was the trailer itself (duh). it only features a Porg for around a second when it's spending quality time with Chewie and it makes an adorable squealing sound.
i then made my way over to the official Star Wars "Wookiepedia" (the link to it is below).
there, i learned everything i needed to know about the adorable Porgs.
according to the Wookiepedia page, which is confirmed to be canon, Porgs are modeled after real life puffins. cute. the creatures dwell on the cliffs of Luke Skywalker's island where they build nests and fly! CUTE!! their babies are called PORGLETS?!? HOLY F*CK THAT JUST MADE MY DAY!!
so there is your answer, folks. Porgs can in fact fly.
